Cafe Beaudelaire
Café Beaudelaire is one of my all-time favorite places in Ames, Iowa. Why is this?! It is great at any time of the day; breakfast, lunch and dinner! Their Gyro Omelet for breakfast always hits the spot, and you can’t get breakfast there without one of their famous Bloody Marys.
Their signature, and probably my favorite sandwich is in all of Ames, is their Beirut. This is grilled thin pita bread smothered with broiled muenster and mozzarella cheese, topped with roasted tomatoes, choice of thick sliced roast beef or marinated chicken breast, fresh oregano, cilantro mayo, lettuce and a fried egg. I also love their European wedge fries that they serve with this and include a side of mayo.
Outside of dining, this place is great at night! They are known for their Long Island Ice Tea’s. You have to be careful with these! They even open up super early in the morning as well if there is a soccer game on; I must warn you though that you’ll want to a Brazil Fan!
